Nigel Spratt
Churchwarden - Fordingbridge
Nigel was born in Fordingbridge and joined the church choir in 1951. He has family links to St. Mary’s back as far as 1734 when his 5th great grandparents were married there. Nigel was a Chartered Engineer, starting his career at A&AEE Boscombe Down, moving on to Hawker Siddley in Cheshire and then Rolls Royce in Derbyshire. After leaving engineering to try, unsuccessfully, his own business as a shopkeeper, he resumed engineering in Verwood at a company manufacturing welding equipment for the Auto Industry. He rose to Chief Engineer and travelled extensively in South America, North America and Europe. Nigel is married to Janet, has four children and twelve grandchildren.
