Martin Ings

Churchwarden - Hyde

Martin was born in Highfield Hospital in 1952. He went to school in Fordingbridge and then to Bishop Wordsworth in Salisbury. Whilst there he started to learn to play the trumpet which led on to three years study at the Royal College of Music. After ten years playing in London with the orchestras there and having the position of principal trumpet of the English National Ballet, he moved to Dorset to join the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra where he remained until retirement.

Hyde Church is very dear to him. The Ings family have associations with the church from its very beginning; his great great great grandfather, James and his wife Charlotte were two of the first people to be buried in the churchyard at Hyde, and each generation following has been buried there also. Since he moved, with his wife, to Ringwood in 2007 t they have been regular worshippers at Hyde, and are taking an active part in the life of the parish.
