Mark was first licensed as a lay minister in 2005 and takes services in the parish as well as across the deanery and diocese. He has been the Lay-chair of Christchurch Deanery, a member of Winchester Diocesan Synod and for 6 years sat on the Bishop’s Council and as a director of Winchester Diocesan Board of Finance. He is a Deputy Warden of Lay Ministry assisting the Warden of Readers (Bishop David, Basingstoke).
Mark works for The Trussell Trust, a charity based in Salisbury which supports 1300+ foodbanks around the U.K. He has worked for The Trussell Trust since 2008 and previously worked in the banking sector regulating financial services activities.
He has lived in Sandleheath since 1995 with Margaret, his wife, who works in the refectory at Salisbury Cathedral and who sings with St Mary’s choir. They have a very noisy cat called Georgie.
His interests are his 3 married children, 8 grandchildren, an allotment, walking and reading novels. He is also a trustee of Quadrant Almshouses and Sandleheath Allotments where he can usually be found on a Saturday morning.
