Kate Wilson
Assistant Priest
Kate started nursing in 1965 in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and she continued to work in various nursing, management and teaching roles until 1999 when she retired from the NHS. While training for ordination in Oxford she started working in hospices and with Child Bereavement UK as a bereavement trainer and facilitator.
Kate was ordained in Christchurch Cathedral Oxford in 2003 and was Assistant Priest in the churches of St Peter and St Leonard in Iver; Bucks. In 2010 she was licensed as Priest in Charge at Christ Church, Colbury in the village of Ashurst & Colbury.
Kate moved to Fordingbridge in 2014 and has become part of the ministry team. She is a trained Bereavement Counsellor and works with the GP surgery and The Burgate School offering bereavement support to patients, teachers and students. Kate has been married to Andy for over 50 years and they have two married daughters, who are both teachers and four amazing grandchildren.
